I am at work and don't have a reference for normal prolactin levels
post partum, incredibly.
Does anyone know what one would expect to find in a breastfeeding
woman one week post partum? We have a blood test showing 3898
milliunits of prolactin per liter blood. Milk production is
approximately half of baby's needs, and breastfeeding is approximately
continuous, with effective suckling.

I will be very grateful for any help, URLs for websites where I can
find this info, stories of similar things, anything at all! We are
waiting for results of a few other tests, but this one result doesn't
help much since our lab's reference range is 100-700 milliunits/liter
and it doesn't say whether that is in a lactating woman.
