First of all to emphasize I have no financial interest with any company
that makes or sells baby scales.

I have been very impressed with the Medela Baby Weigh scale - I used it
exclusively in Puerto Rico where it mostly sat in my office - tropical,
salt-laden air as our hospital was ON the beach (awful for our cars).

Since I moved to California we purchased two for our Public Health Nurses
and I usually carry one in my car - bumps, heat is VERY high in the summer
there, equipment and cases hit against it - and the scale is still in
excellent shape after 4 years of being hauled in and out of office, car, to
the home, back again. I change batteries about once a year.

One recommendation - get a trolley or cart if you plan to use it as I do -
it's heavy and the case is perfect to store other items (Hale's book, wipes
and paper covers for the scale, starter SNS, nipple shields and gloves are
in mine right now) - which makes it even heavier. Perhaps Medela should
re-design their case to one that has wheels!
