Well, it seems the way is paved already - it will happen just the same as it happened with lessening the numbers of the non-medical IBCLC's wannabes who get to the exam. Make the new requirements, wait 10 years for retirement age to come close and there will be but very few lactosaurus without medical background on active duty. And these remaining oddities will be there to represent the romance of the beginnings of the profession and to make the future nurses wonder in awe how on earth one could get where these ladies are without all the things one learns in nursing school.

Sorry, just getting morbidly ironic late at night.
