I have a friend with a child violently allergic to peanuts... they can't
keep anything peanut-related in the house because he has had reactions to
peanut residue on his siblings' hands. (I only knew her after our kids were
school age and don't dare ask if he was b/f but would love to know) This
family has been warned in no uncertain terms that the child could die if he
ingests peanuts.

To illustrate Linda's point about the widespread use of peanut products: I
learned from this friend that *PLAIN* M&Ms contain peanuts. Yes. Read the
label and you will see it; it explains for me the slightly salty "tint" to
the chocolate. (spoken like a chocolate connoisseur...)

Mary Renard,
looking forward to Easter season when Hershey's puts out candy-coated eggs -
like enormous M&Ms but with GOOD chocolate that doesn't have ground up
peanuts in it!
