What pump is mom using? Sometimes they are using a really lousy pump and
blaming themselves for the low output. And sometimes it is a good pump,
but not the RIGHT pump for the individual mom and her situation.

Probably mom's milk production has been declining for awhile, or she
might be pregnant and not know it.
Sometimes I plot a growth chart for babies in this position. You can
often see where the decrease happened, sometimes it was months before
the baby started getting balky at breast.
And sometimes the pregnancy test was wrong, or mom just doesn't know
she's pregnant yet, but her breasts do.

Along with improved milk removal and gentling the baby back to the
breast, sometimes with a supplementer, herbs have seemed to help some
moms in my practice. Some used mother's milk tea, many cups a day;
others used Motherlove products. Others got domperidone from a
compounding pharmacy on the advice of a physician.
