Good luck with your survey.  I look forward to seeing the outcome.
Will pass the info along to our  L&D nurses.
I wonder if you might have one problem in that those who positively
support labor may be more likely to be the same kind of folks who
want to contribute to such a study.  I suspect those who believe
strongly in interventions may not be as likely to respond.
One of the items of info that we enter on our inpatient LC
worksheets is whether and when mom had an epidural.  We hope to be
able to make some use of this data in the future.  One thing that I
have noticed, but haven't tabulated is that the use of epidurals
seems to go in spurts.  On some days, all the new deliveries seem to
have had epidurals while on other days, few if any of the new moms
had them.  I have pointed this out to Clinical Nurse Specialist who
is a researcher at heart.  If we do any further data collection (who
the docs are, which L&D nurses are on which of those days, and any
other variables we can think of) I will pass the results along.
