For the mother who is leaking so copiously she is ready to
take chemicals to suppress lactation I would suggest she try
disposable diapers (as bra pads). *This is not an idea I would
give to most women.* However, I had a patient who was in
despair over her prodigious leakage. It was preventing her
from going out in public. In a rather desperate wave of
inspiration I had her try a disposable diaper, cut into
workable sizes, to use only when she was in dire need
(going out in public). Gave her cautions about rashes, etc.
She found this solution worked very well and she did not have
any skin problems. Excess milk was trapped in gel form by
chemicals in diapers--and diapers have large "storage
capacity."

BTW: I've had cases in my practice (pituitary adenomas)
where cabbage worked to decrease supply where nothing
else did.
