I'm in touch with a great RN/IBCLC who is working with a Kaiser hospital in
California to create change - but this is being done in many Kaiser
hospitals - ..

What I really wanted to share was her method of addressing concerns - she
set up a "practice inservice area" in the back of the OR - where the staff
could gather with their own equipment and tools and discuss how to address
the barriers they perceived. SO MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE than a lecture or
coming in and telling them what to do!

Perhaps most important for us is to realize that human milk is not simply a
food but rather a complex, human infant support system.
