Totally agree with Jean.

I have (I think) gone some way to resolve this over the past few years by
using this expression:

"it's the frequency of milk removal that drives the supply"

I don't say 'if you do this, then this happens' because that is too direct
and is liable to misinterpretation.

I also prefer 'drives' the supply rather than speaking in terms of volume
removed which is not exact. I then go on to explain in more detail what
this 'frequency' means and how the whole thing works.
