We are back to nurses wanting to use Sweeties (Sucrose water) to encourage a baby to latch. What does the evidence say? My manager found a conference abstract from the 10th National Neonatal Nurses Conference and 13th National MotherBaby Nurses Conference in Savannah, Georgia, September 13-15, 2010 that says "Seet-Ease bhas been tremendously helpful to mothers to stimulate infants who are reluctannt to latch, or are showing frustration and/or disorganiziation."

The question is: Should we really be harping on staff to quit using Sweet-Ease to latch on full term babies? Arrg. To me this sounds like an opinon. Does any one have any evidence?
