Hi again,

We had the Similac rep come today, and she introduced yet another formula to our staff - this one is "Similac for Supplementation" and states on the bottle - "for breastfeeding moms who choose to introduce formula". My manager says that the rep says Similac has added prebiotics in this formula which are gentler on the baby's stomach. She also suggested that the label is good for breastfeeding moms, because it gives the message that the supplementation is only temporary. Of course, I completely disagreed and believe it's just another ploy to get moms to think it's ok to use the formula.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this new formula around, and what your hospital staff has said about it. Thanks again,

Brenda Phipps, BS, IBCLC
