I guess it is just how we read into words.  I intended the sentence
to indicate that BF reduces the risks of SIDS, and to me this is
synonomous with protecting against it.  If you reduce risks, you
are protecting against it.  We all say BF protects the baby from
ear infections, but we do not mean that the babies do not get them
(Tanner has one now).  I do, however, not want to give anyone the
wrong idea, so if some of you feel I am implying the wrong thing, I
will definately change my wording.  I just wanted to clarify that,
personally, I do not see a difference in the wording.  Thank you so
much for your criticisms, they are taken with respect.
