Dear Everyone,
Hi! I am an aspiring LC and a new "Lactnetter" from Oklahoma City,OK.Thanks
for the great information that you all share so candidly, professionally,
and passionately;I am learning a lot.It is not likely that I would have
posted so soon had it not been for the post re: pituitary tumor and
breastfeeding from last week.
I was on Parlodel for about 2 yrs. prior to becoming pregnant with my first
child;it was dc'd as soon as I learned I was expecting. Whether or not my
elevated prolactin levels were attributable to a pituitary tumor is
uncertain, as the cat scan confirmed one, but the MRI did not. I had a
wonderful pregnancy, followed by a happy and uncomplicated breastfeeding
relationship with my son. My milk supply was, in the words of
Goldilocks,"just right!"
To the surprise of my fertility specialist and myself, I became pregnant
again when my son was 18 months, and we continued nursing for another 4
months. In addition, I had no milk supply problems with my daughter whom I
nursed for a year. I hope that this helps some. If you need more
information, please e/m me.
Glad to be with you all,
Valerie Rhodes,RN
