So I was the original "poster" to this message and I did recieve some responses off list. Thank you everyone for your input and guidance. We do have all the latest tool kits, protocols, research, etc. However, with this, it is still not clear as to how aggressive we need to be in the first 24 hours. If feedings are found to be in effective at best and we are unable to express much colostrum from mothers breast is formula the answer if donor's milk is not available? Are we preventing further separation by doing this or are we creating a more challenging breast feeding situation. I think what we really need is an "If this, then that" for 1 hour, 2 hour, 3 hour, etc.

Thanks,
Tricia
