Karleen,
Sorry about replying to the wrong person! Anyway, my Mom with twins nearly
died giving birth she was in ICU for many days with HELLP syndrome. She was an
IVF Mom also. A few years ago we had a mother (Lay Midwife) who ended up in
our ICU and had received 17 units of blood. The moment she was off of the
ventilator she was asking for a pump. The Doctors felt she would end up on a
heart transplant list. But she shocked them all with a full recovery and I saw
her at 3 months. Even I was totally amazed to find out she had a full milk
supply and was nursing beautifully. We did a lot to help her in the hospital but
she didn't need to call me after discharge. She had lots of other resources.
It was so nice to meet up with her later. I had always wondered if she was
able to produce much milk after this horrendous ordeal.
