The suggestion to pump was made to the list in a previous post. My comment was only intended to back up the time frame for the milk to be safe for use.

I assumed when I read the suggestion that it was related to the mother feeling uncomfortable. And in a case where the mother pumps routinely, the milk can be used and there is no need to discard (as mentioned in a post in this thread)...
