Laurie, thanks for your brilliant suggestion for a portable screen for BF
mothers ("a larger than life blow-up sexy lady in a thong and with nipple
"pasties")."
Best laugh I've had all day.

I wish Denny's post on the dreaded jaundice that 'strikes' 60% of newborns,
but can be prevented by a drug that halts bilirubin production for up to a
week, were a spoof as well, but that would be too much to ask.

When will they 'get it'? It's not the short stay, it's the lack of any
systematic, competent follow-up in the early days that puts breastfeeding
and babies at risk! The tragic case of baby Cal would hardly have been
prevented in hospital when 'doctor after doctor' didn't even react to his
mother's concern nor to his jaundiced skin. The drug sounds frightening. I
await the first reports of the side effects with my usual jaundiced eye.
