If her perineum is reddened then she could have a yeast infection, other
infection, or a dermatitis. Some moms use an estrogen cream if low estrogen
is contributing to vaginal dryness. the steroid cream can just mask symptoms
but not treat the infection if present. there are any number of conditions
that could be causing this.
if dryness is the major issue, she can use astroglide or other lubricants,
more foreplay, etc.
however i suspect it is more than that - like maybe an infection. what i
suggest is that she return to the doc or to another doc and state that she
is formula feeding her baby. then see what diagnostics and treatments the
doctor recommends. come on now.
