I am posting this to the list not because of the information it
contains, but to rejoice in the fact that Multiple Births Canada is
promoting WBW -- a first, as far as I know, and I've been a member since
1992.

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    September 27, 2004

    World Breastfeeding Week
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wasaga Beach, ON: The following important information is for your
interest. Please feel free to forward to friends, family, chapter
    members and colleagues.

The leaves are starting to fall and children have returned to school
and therefore its time to register for the
    Quintessence Breastfeeding Challenge 2004.

Check out the website at www.babyfriendly.ca
    <http://www.babyfriendly.ca>

The Breastfeeding Challenge, which costs nothing to register,
involves sites across Canada and the US. Mothers "latch" their
babies on at 11am local time.

Sites can be as simple as two or three mothers and children in a
local coffee shop or community centre sharing a cup of tea to larger
groups with door prizes, educational information and refreshments.
It's a great way for Canadian breastfeeding women and their families
to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week. Every women who takes part
    receives a certificate of participation.

Why get involved? To demonstrate support for breastfeeding and
celebrate this truly wonderful gift that women provide to their
children on a daily basis in a culture who often shun them. It is a
health promotion event that can be done with a minimal time
investment. The success of the Challenge rests in your hands. We
need sites across Canada! Last year we had 134 sites and 2244 babies
take part! Australia held a similar challenge this year and at 42
sites had 1684 mothers. We want to show Australia this year, we can
    do it better!!!

The Challenge takes place on October 2 at 11am - it's not too late
to register a site!!! To be counted a site must register prior to
Oct 2nd and follow the simple rules.

Please share this information with your contacts. The success of
    this event rests with you!

    Sincerely,
    Frances Jones
