You asked about these medS:

>Cyanocobalamin 1000mcg daily
>Hale (9th edition) adult dosage 25mcg daily
=Vitamin B12.
1000 mcg daily is probably therapeutic dose as given for those who have pernicious anemia.
L1

>Acetazolamide 125mg daily
>approved
Diuretic
L2

>Triamcinolone 1mg x2
>AAP not reviewed
= a steroid used in multiple forms.
This one may be the problem. One of the resources said: Triamcinolone is excreted in breast milk and infants of mothers taking systemic corticosteroids should be monitored carefully for signs of adrenal suppression.
However this does not say contra-indicated
L3

>Clorfeniramina 2mg x2=20
>I do not know what kind of med. this is, and if it is okay to take it!
Probably Chlorpheniramine, an antihistamine, and probably okay at this dose.
L3

Hale rates the risks as L3 to L1 (moderately safe to safest). That's from the 2002 Edition.

The mom you're working with may have care providers who are not yet comfortable with treating breastfeeding mothers. Hope it works out.

Judith
