Nikki says:

<Women are social creatures. The US has such a culture of isolation that now
every mamma is by herself in a room and staff burn themselves out saying
the same thing to 7 mammas. Saying something once to 7 women and having a
discussion is energy conserving and fun.

I remember doing feeding and bathing classes in the nursery; one mamma
would have a question and that would lead to a discussion. Such a fun way
to learn.>

I agree Nicki. I have fond memories of the days when Monday, Wednesday and Friday, we helped
moms who wished to attend the "Nursing Mother's Circle" wheel their babies' cribs down to the
mother's lounge at 9:30 a.m. for an hour. (This was in addition to any 1-on-1 beside help available.)
We explained only things about breastfeeding as the rules were that any formula feeding (preparation)
information had to be given 1-on-1 at the bedside. The mothers who chose to come, many of them,
about to be discharged, often led the discussion for the day, some with their questions, others,
with answers, that could easily be added to for completeness. It was a great way to illustrate and to
invite them to consider the same sort of principle they had access to after discharge, to use the services of LLL.
