Hello,
I know this this isn't directly related to lactation so please
e-mail me privately if you have any info.
A friend and I are doing some pr work comparing pregnancy and birth
to a running a marathon (can you tell that the 100th running of the Boston
marathon is comin up soon?) A couple of questions have come up and I'm
haveing trouble getting answers adn sources.
1. how fast do cells multiply in pregnancy?
2. how many calories are burned in an average labor?
3. Are there somparisons that can be made about the strength of uterine
contractions compared with muscle contractions in excercise? In other words,
how much could your uterus "benchpress" in labor (so to speak)?
4. I have read in at least one place that labor is the most difficult/
strenuous exercise a human being can undergo. Has anyone else heard that?
Any sources on it?
If anyone has this onfo easily availabel and can get it to me by Thurs or
Fri that would be most appreciated.
  TIA
