I was just paging through BSC's Research Summary looking for info on something
else and ran across a notation on green milk that I thought might be of
interest:

Slivka, H., et al. "Green breast milk." _Conn Med_ 57:763-764, 1993.
"Case report of a 40-year-old who had green galactorrhea 22 and 12 months prior
to delivery (lasted 1-3 days) and again in first and third trimesters of second
pregnancy. Five hours after delivery, the green color appeared but then
disappeared at the next feeding. Only one duct of each breast secreted green
milk. The baby had no problems with exclusive breastfeeding for four months.
No explanation was ever found."

I've seen green colostrum several times in mothers who had initiated pumping.
I'm with Alicia--I've always told the grossed-out nurses that if mom wasn't
pumping we'd never know about it, so ignore the difference in color. In my
limited experience the babies don't have any problem with it, and the mature
milk is normal-colored.
