I speak only from personal experience here, but I found that 400mg of
Diflucan per day plus my son taking it at the same time (don't remember the
peds dose) was the only thing to clear it up for me.  It took about 3 weeks
after starting that dose.  And then every time it recurred (3 more times in
the next 6 months or so) following antibiotic use, I'd immediately start the
high dose again, which would work in 2-3 weeks (was exclusively pumping by
then, so didn't need to treat my son).  I had never had trouble with yeast
before I started breastfeeding.

A sympathetic infectious diseases specialist prescribed it for me, skeptical
it would work, but extremely pleased when it did (as was I!!!)  We're
actually now considering my taking it prophylactically when the next little
guy arrives...
