For those unfamiliar with the terminology in personal ads.... I'm _In
_Search _Of a mother support group for new moms in San Francisco, CA, USA.
My sister just had her 1st baby at age 37; no family nearby; no friends
with babies; 100% clueless husband. Midwife has sat him down for several
talks to assure him that it is *normal* for baby not to smile for the first
few weeks. Apparently he actually thought baby would be *fun* from the
get-go.... dad also still hasn't figured out that one should not hold baby
in "business position" unless one can nurse him! And then he wonders why
baby cries whenever he holds him. Hmmmmmm. Anyway, my sister visited a
daytime LLL group before delivery and the normal toddler chaos and large
group size were pretty overwhelming, plus it was in the valley.

Anyone know of a hospital or other new mother group program IN the city of
San Francisco? Please e-mail privately. TIA-
