Does anyone know why a localized infection in breast tissue,
mastitis, causes such systemic symptoms?
For example, if you have a wound infection, you would expect
rednedd and pain, possibly a discharge from the site. But symptoms of
high fever, shaking chills, and flu-like symptoms would signify systemic
involvement...sepsis.
So, why do these symptoms routinely present in mastitis?
