For those of you in the hospital setting using donor milk, a few questions:
*who pays for the milk?
*do you have specific policies regarding who gets donor milk and how long they get the donor milk, as in every baby under x weeks until x weeks, specific diagnoses, case by case decision?
*Is donor milk the next food considered after mom's own milk, specifically for those mom's unable to produce, do not want to pump, illegal subastance abuse? In other words donor milk would be given instead of formula?

We have used donor milk in the past per parent's request and one family was able to get insurance coverage. As MA is looking to get a Milk Bank up and running I want to get a decsion tree in place. I'm curious as to how other facilities are using milk. Any information you can share is appreciated either to the list or privately.
Thanks,
