When a new mom complains that the baby is "using me as a pacifier" or "he
just wants to stay on all the time", I make some happy comments like "really,
wow, smart baby, he knows just how to increase the milk supply, pretty soon
he won't be able to stay on so long because you'll have so much milk and
he'll get full faster, right now he's getting colostrum, which is perfect for
him, more frequently and in smaller amounts just right for a new baby, so it
sounds like you are both doing just great, I'll use that as a good example of
how to get breastfeeding off to a good start in the breastfeeding class this
morning, you are doing so well". Sometimes followed by a discussion of
adjustment of lifestyle changes a baby brings, support........
