Dear Lactnetters,

I have a LLLI Help Form from a mother who says she has sore nipples,
sometimes to the point of being cracked and bleeding, *during* her period.
Not just sore breasts but the nipples themselves. It continues while she is
menstruating but then goes away gradually as her period ends.  She has had
3 cycles since her baby was born 6 months ago, and this has happened each
time.  Is this normal or something to worry about? Just hormones or what?
Is there anything she can do to ease the pain? Lansinoh doesn't help.
