Lea, where are they getting these? Yes, they're cheap, but they not only don't work, they are dangerous. No way to be cleaned, they are breeding grounds for bacteria.

If someone is distributing them, can something be said or done?

I'm truly surprised to see these things still being sold.

<<We have a HUGE problem with the "bulb" pumps.  I don't know if they are specifically Pigeon or not.  We get literally 100s of women who are using the "bicycle horn" pump.  A few have even been successful at maintaining milk supply when their babes are in NICU.  The problem is so widespread we have begun putting flyers in our Pediatric clinics and Prenatal Clinics in English and Spanish that say "DO NOT ACCEPT THIS TYPE OF PUMP.  THEY DON'T WORK" and directing them to the Lactation Clinic with questions.  We gladly give either an Ameda or Medela hand pump if they call.
