I have had two similar cases in the last week which are puzzling and would like to know if anyone out there could shed some light.

PTP. Both babies came to me at around 6-8 weeks. Gained nicely until around 5 weeks, ate regularly -everything was "fine". In the last few weeks babies stood still or went down in weight. BOTH will get upset after a few minutes of bf and BOTH will calm only with the pacifier, and NEITHER will take a bottle or any other alternate feeding. Neither has a tongue tie. Both have been to the pediatrician and there are no obvious health issues. Both moms had enough milk and now feel supply is dwindling. There are some differences: Baby A is nice and chubby, has excema on her cheeks, Mom had a terrible latch(baby was actually just licking up what was pouring off -literally!) Transfered 80cc in about 10 minutes after helping with latch and positioning. B (#6 -all ebf siblings) has that scary long lean (and starving) look, but is latching well, transfered about 40cc but is willing to stay on to finish feed with tube..
I am sorry if this is missing details but I am trying to make this consice.
There are differences and probably not the same case but I have questions that apply to both of them.

My Questions:
Why would a baby not want to suck *anything* that is providing milk but be happy to suck pacifier??( I thought allergy? reflux? - but where was that for the last 6 weeks?)

If baby won't won't take supplements of ebm(no tubes, syringes, bottles ,, cup..nothing!)-how can we get the calories into him? (As I am writing this,Mom just called me that the last diaper changed 4 hours ago, was completely dry- Baby A)

Baby A's mother had thrush but baby was not treated and there are no signs of thrush in mouth. Ped insists that there is not thrush by baby, no need for meds. Could that be causing her pain when she sucks, even if we don't see anything? Again, why wouldn't the pacifier bother?

Pehaps there are questions I should be asking that I am not.....
Any and all input would be greatly appreciated!
