Laura,

Honestly, I am not trying to turn this into a battle royale. The point
that I am trying to make is that baby's who have infant colitis do gain
weight (ARE OFTEN PUDGY), and by all means, SHOULD be happy, but because of
the colitis, they are NOT. These babies rarely have weight gain issues. In
fact, mom usually has overactive milk ejection. The baby has green,
mucusy--sometimes bloody stools. Mom thinks baby may have colic, but the
actual diagnosis is infant colitis. Taking milk products out of mom's diet,
and lactase use (Lact-Aid) does help. It also helps to stay on one breast
for up to 3-4 hours at a time. Did anyone else out there go to the the
Infant Colitis seminar at ILCA?
