Remember that the reason the old shields compromised milk supply was that
the babies weren't transferring much milk, therefore compromising supply
because the breasts were not drained. So if the baby gets a good latch with
the shield, the milk flows, the breast is well-drained and voila! We have a
milk supply!!
I love physiology.
Dawn Kersula in Vermont....who was happy to have a Lamaze reunion with all 3
moms unmedicated labors - but sad because one just weaned (at 8 weeks)
because she didn't like breastfeeding, one feeding expressed milk because of
latch issues and one - the childbirth educator's daughter - still happily
breastfeeding but discombobulated (or is that discomboobulated!)
