I belong to this practice group as a pediatric dietitian. I am not
familiar with the publication mentioned in the initiated post but in the
past I have brought up to the attention of the practice group about our
unethical relationship with formula companies. To give you an example,
the newsletter is in part supported by a grant from Nestle. About 1 year
ago (I don't rememember exactly when) there was a question about this
issue and I wrote (and was published in the newsletter) about how this was
not ethical and even gave suggestions about how in our changing times we
had to find other ways for funding the activities of the group. Somebody
else also wrote about how formula companies REALLY helped our group and
others. So, I am afraid all fell on deaf ears but at least there was some
controversy or at least the controversy was started (?).
