Sue, I'm so far behind on posts I'm embarrassed to respond so late, and hope
you got the help you needed for this mom.  I know a mother of twins who had
severe PUPPS.  It took a few weeks postpartum for it to resolve.  She found
Aveeno oatmeal baths to be soothing.  She took the antihistamines while
pregnant, but they didn't help that much.  I believe she omitted them
postpartum.
PUPPS is something one gets during pregnancy, so I'm amazed breastfeeding is
being blamed for it.
