How safe is Norvasc for breastfeeding mothers. We have a new mom, 3 days
postpartum, who is continuing to have labile blood pressures despite
treatment with mag sulfate. Her doctor wants to put her on Norvasc. Per
Hale it is an L3 and caution is urged "if administering to lactating women". The
1/2 life of this medication is very long, 30 to 50 hours but it has a high MW,
408 and is highly protein bound, 93%. Does anyone on this list have
experience with this medicationand can advise.

Thank you,

Barbara Dudley RN IBCLC
