Jaye writes:

As a private practice LC, I work with too many moms who have tried for weeks
to find the right info that will help them by looking on-line and getting
more and more confused and complicating their situation considerably. I find
this in other situations too but I'll stick to the on-line aspect right
now.

~~ The internet can be helpful for moms to see they may have a particular
situation, and they are not alone. Someone has written about it. But, as Jaye
says, there is old information, wrong information, and confusing'/conflicting
information. Even beyond that, a website cannot help anyone figure out how
even the best information pertains to their individual situation. This is true
with any health situation. When my friend was diagnosed with metastatic breast
cancer, I learned from her oncologist, that metastatic breast cancer plays
out very uniquely in different people. The statistics I read online, even on
good websites, were only generalities. They could not tell anyone how they
might apply to one specific person, in terms of treatment, prognosis,
progression, or anything else. We needed someone caring and skilled to help us really
get an individualized view and plan.

Peace,
Judy
