Hi All,
From Hale, Pg 259

AAP:  Not reviewed

Metformin is used to reduce glucose levels in non-insulin dependent
diabetics. Ora; bioavailability is only 50%. Whereas plasma half-life is
6.2 hours, whole blood half-life is 17.6 hours. Studies in animals suggest a
milk:plasma ratio of 1.0 with milk levels comparable to the maternal plasma.
 No data from human studies were found. Due to low protien binding, and the
low molecular weight (165) of this product, other hypoglycemics would be
preferred.

Adverse Effects: Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, bloating, lactic acidosis,
hypoglycemia

AHL = 6.2 hours (Plasma)                     M/P = 1.0
PHL =                                                  PB = Minimal
PK = 2.75 hours                                    Oral = 50%

Hope this helps!
