Wad up newspapers to fill extra space underneath and around the bottles.
Put a piece of dry ice, or Blue Ice, or other freezer gel package on top.
Fill any extra space on top with more wadded newspapers.
Secure the lid. If it's Styrofoam and the lid is not the best, tape it down.
People send milk to milk banks this way - using dry ice - by overnight
express.
I suggested the freezer gels only because this is a road trip.
Newspapers fill up extra air space and provide more insulation - really
important where I live now that the thermometer is >100F.
Never know when you hit a traffic jam and have to turn off the air
conditioning to keep the engine from overheating.
