Have sent Judith a longer personal reply, in case someone in the group may benefit putting a brief note here. I have used three different systems over the past several years, up until then it was all paper.
The GE Centricity system is the only computerized charting system I have used that links the charts of mother and baby.
Have also used Meditech computerized documentation
Using Cerner now, which is extremely comprehensive and complex! 
(and not a delivering facility so don't have a 'mom' chart at all)
 I think the biggest thing to rememnber is the documentation systems are modified for each facility!!!!!
The meditech I used at one facility was not set up the same as the meditech at another, operating was similar but that was all.
There should be a team within each facility that works on personalizing the computer documentation system for that facility.
