Requiring a full-priced ticket for infants-in-arms is only one of many
ridiculous Olympic rules. I guess they are trying to rake in as much $ as
they can. We are going to the games this summer because we are in too far
and nothing is refundable. If you are a family that is stupid enough to have
more than 2 kids, for instance, (or 2 parents for that matter) then forget
about sitting together. You can only buy 4 tickets for many of the events
(all the popular ones) and if you want 5 (!) then you had to send 2 separate
applications under 2 different names (complete with SS# and mother's maiden
name, I am not making this up!). This was a lottery, too, so you had to
figure out all the possible ramifications/configurations of what you would
end up with if one form lucked out and got first choices and the other got
its third choices. After you are notified that you have "lucked out" and
actually got some tickets, they tell you about how to apply for
accommodations through the "Olympic travel agency". Even more restrictive,
expensive and too late to back out. You can't just call Motel 6 and get the
cheapest room possible. Anyway, sorry to go on about something that is not
proper Lactnet info but I feel phone calls about infants would be a waste of
time. They obviously don't care about how much it costs for anything to do
with the Olympics and I guess they figure they'll have zillions of people
who can afford the absurdly high prices they're charging for everything.

Who is glad we at least got 2 gymnastics tickets so we can cheer for Shannon!
