my 1st son had a nursing strike at 10 mos after another child bit his finger
hard enough to draw blood. he had not yet started solids. to top it off, we
were leaving to fly across the country for xmas the next day. his strike lasted
4 days. what worked for us was nursing him in his sleep, (i'd actually set a
clock and wake up at 2 am and latch him on in his sleep and he nursed
effectively for abour 20 mins), nursing him in a sling when sleepy while i walked
around and bounced him and sang, nursing in a tub when he was sleepy and nursing
when the tv was on and he could watch it and be distracted by it while i sort of
teased the breast into his mouth. sounds like your mom has already tried many
of these, but just thought i'd post in case anything might help...i r/m well
the complete panic and sense of loss i felt! i hope all resolves itself
speedily.
