Why do I feel like this is a patronizing statement? We may *love* to see it
but so many don't strive to see it, don't do much more than give it lip
service. About once a month here I watch the news and hear of a mom who had
a baby that just couldn't *wait* for the ride to the hospital. AND?????
Then the woman anchor usually makes some comment about "oh gosh and she had
that baby in her car with no epidural" or "do the ambulance drivers
carrying epidural kits?" "Oh how brave she was to be unmedicated" We
aren't brave to birth without medication, we don't deserve the patronizing
statements that we get from women who choose not to birth our way, some say
it's because they "couldn't" (some c/s aside). Now I better stop before I
get in trouble yet again.
