Abbott has certainly done its homework with their "Feeding Expert" hotline. Not only are they encouraging hospitals and parenting websites to send breastfeeding mothers to this resource but many medical practices are also listing this hotline as a resource for breastfeeding mothers. The Tumbling Boobs blog at http://tumblingboobs.tumblr.com/post/1065910428/its-not-just-parenting-websites-promoting-similacs informs us that medical centers and pediatric offices have been duped into participating in Abbott's marketing efforts. Lactnetters should check to make sure that medical practices and clinics with whom they work and in their area have not been co-opted into listing Abbott's "Feeding Expert" as a resource for new mothers. It is so disappointing to see medical professionals abdicate their responsibilities to a commercial entity whose goal is to reduce breastfeeding.
