Although I appreciate the intent to improve mother and baby bonding with restricted visiting hours, I can't help but to perceive such implementation as disrespectful, controlling and ignoring individual family rights. Nursing staff and practitioners should instead educate families and support their decision to limit visitations and/or assist them in how best to manage this, but to determine the rules and apply them in the most convenient way for staff is no different than requiring a mother to birth on her back. This is controlling and manipulative. Visitation does not limit everyone's breastfeeding experiences, but rather can greatly enhance some. Did this study include the presence of the father as "a visitor" disrupting private maternal bonding?

Very grateful I work in a facility that individualizes EVERY mother's care,
