Hi-
The birth control method that I used for many years was an IUD. It is
generally compatible with breastfeeding unless there is new data that I
don't know about. About 10 years ago there was some
sort of liability problem in the US. I do not know if the problem has
been resolved. Many private physicians stopped inserting IUDs at that
time but did reccommend a trip to Montreal or other place that they were
available. I received two (four years apart) in Israel as a result.
Recently I saw some information about IUD use in literature from a family
planning clinic so maybe they are again more available.
