It sounds to me like this baby has an undiagnosed medical condition. It sounds like it is hypotonic and has feeding difficulties that are outside the scope of normal and should be referred to a specialist. My thought would be seeing a neurologist or ENT. I had a similar, though not exactly the same, situation with a baby a few years ago who had Pierre Robin syndrome and it was missed in the hospital. The mother c/o the baby being a poor feeder, not wanting to take supplement, she had to nurse it upright and it spit up through it's nose. I had the feeling that something was just not right with that baby. Listen to your gut. Something isn't right here. When this mother took the baby to the ENT they found a very small cleft palate that was previously missed and the baby was finally diagnosed. Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some similar medical issue. In the meantime, I think this baby needs more food. Perhaps finger feeding or an SNS at the breast? Or maybe the baby should see a GI doctor? I would talk to the Pediatrician about referring this baby to a specialist for more testing. Good luck.
