Permission to share. 
Baby with 'moderate' posterior tongue tie was clipped at 6 weeks (after slow gain, much nipple pain, constant nursing- you probably know the story). Mom had had it by that point and is now pumping and bottle feeding, supplying about 1/2 baby's needs. 
My question is- since the clipping, baby's tongue has been uncoordinated to the point of even having trouble bottle feeding at times. She clearly doesn't know what to do with it, and keeps trying. Once in a while, she will be able to move it in a wavelike motion. But it's like she forgets and struggles with each feeding. They have had chiro/CS but it hasn't improved things.
The Mom is happy with pumping right now, and baby manages to get enough food from the bottle, but we're wondering about long term effects- will this affect speech? orthodontics? Other things we haven't thought of? In other words, should the parents pursue therapy now to try to help this problem, or wait and see?  And what sort of therapy? PT/OT? Any insight would be appreciated.
