I have used the Ameda kit with my Pump in Style and the Medela kit with a
Purely Yours. (I wanted to see if it was possible because I had moms
asking). The Ameda kit worked fine with the Pump in Style the first two
times I used it but after that I had problems. It sounded like the
diaphragm was working too hard and it was making a "slapping" noise.
Needless to say, I didn't use the Ameda kit again and the pump was fine
again using the Medela kit. The Medela kit worked fine on the Purely Yours
(and Lact-E) with no problem. However, using the Medela kit with an Ameda
pump could possibly allow milk to back up into the motor, which would
obviously be a problem.
