Hi All,

A close friend/client of mine was 23 wks pregnant with baby #2. She
developed a severe case of HELLP out of the blue - one say she was fine 2
days later she was dying with platelet levels dropping like crazy and liver
enzymes going through the roof . They induced delivery on Friday (12-22) -
baby was delivered on Christmas morning and lived about 1.5 hrs. Mom is
severely anemic - Dr wanted her to have a transfusion but she needed to get
home. She promised that she would have large amounts of iron in her diet
via food and supplement - they let her go home.

Given the state of her physical condition what is the likelihood of her milk
coming in - so far she is 4 days out with minimal signs of her milk coming
in. She has a toddler who was still nursing but seems to have either
forgotten how (while mom spent almost a week in the hospital) or simply
can't because she has a nasty cold and is terribly congested. I am beside
myself with not knowing how to comfort my friend and trying to remember my
LC information is just not happening right now.

All help will be appreciated.

Jaye
